In this position...

Develop STA point of view with Technical Experts and affected regions on manufacturing feasibility risk assessment and readiness for interior commodity manufacturing.

What you'll do...

  • Develop manufacturing feasibility plans for new parents, new technology, and high-risk commodities.

  • Review quality performance and evaluate enhancements for continuous improvement in interior commodity manufacturing

  • Drive implementation of robust manufacturing quality control strategies

  • Provide support to Site STA, engaging supplier’s Global Management team to address systemic quality, capacity, and manufacturing issues.

  • Support the development and maintenance of interior commodity manufacturing standards

  • Drive robust sourcing risk assessments on suppliers

  • Collaborate with peers in STA, Product Development, and Purchasing

  • Work with product engineering on design and engineering specifications (ES) to address feasibility issues

  • Provide guidance to purchasing for outsourced components/assemblies related to interior commodity manufacturing process and testing procedures

  • Coordinate efforts regarding FMA, SCCAF, pass through characteristics and quality metrics with cross-functional team

  • Develop global lessons learned and prevent recurrence.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering or equivalent technical / manufacturing aptitude

  • 3 - 5 years minimum experience in manufacturing

  • Experience in process planning, implementation, and launch of Interior Commodity manufacturing systems (IP’s, consoles, headliners, door panels, seats, restraints, seat structures)

  • Experience in performing manufacturing feasibility assessments

  • Operational experience in manufacturing processes and process control.

  • Experience in project management and/or program launch

  • MBA/MS preferred – Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical

  • Interior Commodity Experience Preferred (e.g. Injection Molding, Foam in Place, Vac Forming, IMG, IMGL, Paint, Press Bonding, welding, assembly, etc.)

This position is a range of salary grades 7 and 8.
